Referees

We require referees for all Under 11 to Under 17 Games at Australind.

However we have introduced game leaders for Under 8,9 & 10 games and assistant referees (linespeople) for the FIFA games.

Our referees are rostered/coordinated by our Referee Coordinator to ensure we have someone allocated to every game.

Games are allocated based on skill level and age of the referees. You need to be 2 years older than the teams you are refereeing or demonstrate a suitable level of skill and maturity to be able to control the game.

We take referees aged 11 to as old as you want to be and still run around after the play.

You need your parents' permission and support if you are under 18 - Whilst we have a referee coordinator and game marshals on the day we look for referee parents to help support their child during the games as well, again based on age and maturity of the referee.  Parents should complete the free online Laws of the Game course as well.

You are expected to be punctual and present yourself as a professional referee - we expect some of the fees we pay you goes back to buying a referee shirt, whistle, notebook, cards and flags if required.   It is an association requirement that you complete the basic online referee course - Laws of the Game online (Level 5).  AJSC would also like all of our referees to complete the Level 4 classroom course.

Referees are paid a fee per game - this covers your out of pocket expenses in refereeing for us.
